We envision a world where individuals and organizations become assets for themselves and society.

Tashi aims to grow with marginalized communities working with women, children, adolescentsand youth in the education and health sectors and at the same time lend a helping hand todevelop grassroots leadership committed to social issues in social sectors, using extensive network and expertise, to help them achieve their dreams and become agents of social change.

Our Modus Operandi

How do we become the bridge?

Our Approach: A Two-Phase Journey to Empowerment

Tashi utilizes experiential methods to reach the most vulnerable adolescents and women. Our focus is on identifying unmet needs, accelerating social transformation, and building the resilience required to thrive in mainstream society.

Phase 1: Personalized Engagement & Motivation

We design programs tailored to the specific educational levels, interests, and strengths of adolescent girls and children. By meeting them where they are, we ignite the motivation necessary to re-enter or excel within the formal education system.

Phase 2: Holistic Skill Acquisition

We equip our participants with a comprehensive toolkit for life. Our core program components include:

  • Foundational Literacy & Numeracy (FLN): Rebuilding the basics.
  • Higher Education & Life Skills: Preparing for the future.
  • Leadership & Physical Education: Building confidence and agency.
Health & Nutrition: Ensuring the physical foundation for growth.

At Tashi, we act as a vital link between systemic structures and the lived realities of marginalized communities. Our ability to “be the bridge” is rooted in over a decade of intensive social sector engagement across Maharashtra. We leverage our expertise to facilitate seamless collaboration between:

  • Community-Based & Civil Society Organizations
  • State Government Agencies
  • Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Initiatives
The Intersection of Research and Praxis

What sets Tashi apart is our dual-lens approach. Our founding members are not only seasoned field practitioners but also Ph.D. holders in the Social Sciences. This allows us to lead research with a critical eye, translating deep field insights into implementable solutions, social initiatives, and sustainable policy reforms.

 Work & Core Values

Our mission is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), ensuring our impact is measured against global standards for progress:

  • Goal 3: Good Health and Wellbeing
  • Goal 4: Quality Education
  • Goal 5: Gender Equality
  • Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth
  • Goal 10: Reduced Inequality
  • Goal 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions

Capacity Building

Our mentoring Framework

We approach mentoring through three strategic pillars:

Community Mentoring: We identify and support local leaders who serve as the bridge between Tashi’s initiatives and the community’s lived realities.

Adolescent Leadership Journeys: Community mentors act as facilitators, guiding adolescent girls through a structured journey of self-discovery, education, and social agency.

Grassroots Leadership Development: In parallel with our direct programs, we conduct intensive capacity-building activities. These are designed to equip grassroots mentors with the pedagogical tools and organizational skills needed to lead community-based education and advocacy independently.

Emerging Leaders

Leadership

Leadership & Decision-Making  Tashi has developed a specialized Leadership Module designed to foster agency and self-advocacy among adolescent girls, children, and women. Our curriculum goes beyond basic skills, focusing on the critical thinking necessary to navigate complex social landscapes and make informed, life-altering decisions. To ensure the highest quality of guida nce, we implement this module in collaboration with esteemed social leaders and veterans. These mentors invest time in deeply understanding the lived realities of our participants, providing personalized guidance that empowers them to emerge as confident, independent individuals ready to lead their communities toward a better future.
