Dr Anagha Sarpotdar has a PhD degree in Social Sciences from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS). Her PhD research was focused on the social and legal aspects of sexual harassment in the workplace. Her articles have been published by Economic and Political Weekly (EPW) In 2013 and 2016 have found a place was found in the documentation, namely the Parliamentary Documentation of done by the Parliament of India and a Compendium on Parliamentary Enactments published by the Rajya Sabha Secretariat in the year 2015. A chapter authored by her in a book published by Daksh was released by Hon’ble Mrs Justice B.V. Nagarathna, currently serving in the Supreme Court of India. She was reappointed as Chairperson of the Local Committee, Mumbai City District constituted by the District Women and Child Development Department, Government of Maharashtra and the District Collector Office, Mumbai City, under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (PPR) Act, 2013, in 2024. She was invited by the UN (United Nations) Women, India Office as a discussion panelist to provide feedback regarding the implementation of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (PPR) Act, 2013 in Mumbai. She has conducted sessions at the invitation of UN Women, India Office to build capacities of the Internal Committees constituted by Madhya Pradesh Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Kerala governments. She was invited by the UN India Office in the year 2011 as an expert to provide recommendations on the draft Bill on Sexual Harassment at Workplace, and in 2018 to give feedback on the implementation of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (PPR) Act, 2013. Currently, she is working as a trainer, consultant, and external member with various organisations across work sectors on sexual harassment in the workplace.
